The hotel is situated on the northeast end of Breite Straße, the main street of Wernigerode and it is not far from the main train station. The room is comfortable but the room window is facing the hotel inner courtyard which is also used as the outdoor dining area for the hotel restaurant so it can be a little bit noisy in the early evening but it is all quiet at night. Wi-fi is good. I like the breakfast here. There are several selections to choose from, both hot and cold items. The hotel reception access is on Grüne Straße which is a side street off Breite Straße but in the morning it can be difficult to find a staff at the reception.
The hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The parking lot is a little far away, but it is safe because it is surrounded by a gate. Loading and unloading of luggage can be done on the street parking, so there is no problem. We also ate dinner at the restaurant. The schnitzel was wonderful and delicious.
Das Zimmer :Wir haben hier drei Nächte verbracht. Das Zimmer war in der ersten Etage, es war klein aber total ausreichend zum Schlafen. Das Bad sowie das Zimmer waren sehr sauber, es machte auf uns den Eindruck ,das es erst renoviert wurden ist.Das Einzige negative war,das wir keinen Ventilator auf dem Zimmer hatten. Bei 28*C Außentemperatur,hat sich das Zimmer sehr schnell aufgeheizt.Das Restaurant:Leider hat uns das Essen nicht gut gefallen. Preis Leistung passt überhaupt nicht. Für ein "Schnitzelhaus"erwartet man ein Pfannenschnitzel und keins aus der Fritteuse. Die Speisen wurden auf dem Teller nicht schön angerichtete, es war alles sehr ölig. Da kann ich auch zum Imbiss gehen...Unser bestellter Kirschsaft wurde mit Wasser gestrecktSchade!!!!! Vom Schnitzelhaus mehr erwartet. Wir waren vor einiger Zeit im Restaurant,das Ambiente würde ich schon als gehoben bezeichnen,alles sehr sauber,einladend und schön eingerichtet. Unsere Bedienung war auch tadellos und wir wurden wohl umsorgt.Das Essen war der knaller (im positiven Sinne),sehr schön angerichtet,sehr lecker und die Portion war üppig.Über die erschwinglichen Preise waren wir auch überrascht.Von uns aus eine große Empfehlung....sehr gerne wieder!(Translated by Google)We were in the restaurant some time ago, I would describe the ambience as upscale, everything was very clean, inviting and nicely decorated. A nice hotel with amazing rooms. I do though reccomend that you check in before 20:00, later than that can make it a little troublesome.
